Reportd: "What's going on?"

reportd.com has launched! Our first version is pretty basic, but it's a start. It's been a tough year since we were last online, but we have been working hard to make news better. Our goal is simple: we're going to answer the question "What's going on?".

 

What is news?

Making news better first means working out what news is. This sounds pretty weird, but it's a really tricky question to answer. Even when you do find an answer, trying to apply this knowledge to a web application just makes things even harder.

 

What have we been up to?

Reportd is a company created to do one thing: Make news better. This means being better for readers, publishers, businesses, fans, brands ... anyone and everyone. Setting out with such a broad goal means you have to do a great deal of work to turn a goal in to ideas and finally in to a product.  We brainstormed, coded, researched and talked until we found the root of what we think news is. Now it's time to test out our ideas.

The Future

This past year has been one of the hardest in our lives (as founders) . We will be rolling out updates, spreading the word and posting on this blog reguarly. We have some big features lined up for the coming weeks.
